Protect Your Energy: Bringing Baltimore Club Energy Into a Message of Self-Preservation

Music has always been a way for me to process life, create moments, and turn feelings into something people can connect with.

This summer, I created a record called “Protect Your Energy” with frequent collaborator Rodney Hollywood — a Baltimore Club inspired dance record built around a simple message: don’t let the outside world take away your peace.

We all experience moments where there is a lot of noise around us — opinions, distractions, pressure, and things that can pull us away from ourselves. This song is a reminder to stay grounded, move with intention, and protect the energy you bring into the world.

For the production, I wanted the record to feel uplifting and immersive. I blended the energy and movement of Baltimore Club with smooth synths, atmospheric textures, and melodic elements that create a feeling beyond just the dance floor. The goal was to make something that people could move to, but also feel.

Rodney Hollywood brought the perfect energy to the record with his smooth R&B vocals, adding emotion and warmth that helped bring the message of the song to life. Working with Rodney has always been special because we share a creative connection that allows us to build records that feel authentic.

The final piece of the process was having the record mixed and mastered by one of the top engineers in the region, Ryan “MixedbyTop” Anderson. His attention to detail helped bring the full vision together and make sure the record hits the way it was intended.

Releasing “Protect Your Energy” on Juneteenth feels meaningful. The song represents freedom in its own way — the freedom to move, to create, and to choose what energy we allow into our lives.

I hope this record reminds you to protect your peace, keep dancing, and keep moving forward.

Stream “Protect Your Energy” and thank you for listening. 🎧

From Baltimore to the World: Breaking Down My Track “Roll Call”

I’m excited to share my latest video from Class Is In Session with Spittcam University, where I break down one of my most iconic tracks: “Roll Call.” This video isn’t just about the beat — it’s a behind-the-scenes look at how the track came together, the culture behind it, and how it reached audiences around the world.

What makes “Roll Call” special is its journey from Baltimore’s club scene to international stages:

  • The track first gained global attention when it was featured in a Lucozade advertising campaign, pairing Baltimore Club energy with dancers and athletes in a commercial that reached audiences worldwide.

  • After that, “Roll Call” hit another milestone: it was featured in Fortnite, where players could buy the track’s emote and perform the signature Baltimore dances — from the Cherry Hill to Crazy Legs — bringing the city’s sound and movement to gamers across the globe. (WMAR2 News)

In the breakdown, I walk through:

  • The inspiration behind the track

  • How I crafted the beat, rhythm, and energy

  • What makes Baltimore Club music unique and why authenticity is key when a track reaches global audiences

For me, seeing “Roll Call” move from local dance floors to international ad campaigns and Fortnite is surreal — it’s proof of how Baltimore Club music resonates far beyond the city. As a DJ and producer, these moments remind me why it’s so important to stay true to the sound and energy that our community created.

Whether you’re a producer, DJ, or fan of high-energy music, this breakdown is a glimpse into how Baltimore Club works — from the studio to the world stage.
